West River Holsteins
West River Holsteins is a family owned dairy farm operating for over 25 years, and participating in Open Farm Day since the program started. This modern 250+ head Holstein farm also has some beef cattle, and lots of equipment to view. Visitors are welcome to join the family and staff to learn more about the dairy industry, cow comfort, efficiencies on the farm including solar panels, and technology used to milk cows, monitor cattle health, feed calves and clean barns. The farm will be open for visitors from 2-4 pm, with guided tours at 2:30 pm, 3 pm, and 3:30 pm allowing visitors to understand more about living and working on a dairy farm. Come grab a coffee at West River Holsteins, and spend some of a Sunday afternoon on the farm.
